Don't believe Everythink You Think, by Dr. Ogi Ressel
Wednesday, April 22nd 2009My warm hellos to everyone!
Why is it that so many of us have such incredible difficulties reaching
our goals and realizing that amazing future for ourselves and our loved
ones? Is it not enough purpose? Not enough gumption? Not enough drive?
Not enough guts?
I don't think it is any of the above.
I feel that the answer lies in the manner in which we pursue our goals.
As a first step toward this understanding we need to have a look at an old
Chinese proverb: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
A number of us have difficulties with that single step - somehow inertia
seeps in and cements our feet to the floor. We just can't seem to get off
our butt and stir the Universe.
Listen......Einstein once said this: "Nothing changes unless something moves."
Sometimes the simple action of movement in the right direction brings on
a cascade of positive events in our lives and things "just happen" it seems.
As well, there are a number of excuses that many of us fall prey to and
many of these include the thought that we are either "too old" or simply
"too young."
I want you to know that age has absolutely nothing to do with reaching your
goals! You are never too old and never too young! Richard Bach, the author
of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, once said this: "If you are still alive, your purpose
is not yet fulfilled." So age is not it! You have work to do!
What is it then?
For the vast majority of us, it is the way we think:
In the Biology of Belief, Bruce Lipton compares our thinking to a virus - a
Virus of the Mind.
Take a look:
A virus has three objectives: It duplicates itself, it's infectious, and it spreads.
A virus of the mind is the same - it starts with an idea placed in your mind
when you were little, usually by those who love you the most and are the
closest to you. It then duplicates, spreads, and infects others. I remember
vividly when I was very young, my mother convinced me that I should not
eat ice cream because it was too cold and I could catch a cold from it.
And I carried that belief with me for years - well into high school! Imagine!
I mention this because all of us are in that same boat - we are all subject
to ideas and thoughts of those who love us the most - and all given for
"our own good." And it is so insidious we do not even realize it.
Lipton found that thoughts actually change the chemistry of the brain!
So it is important to learn how to think in such a way that one enhances
positive brain function.
Dyer, in his new book Excuses Begone, said that Einstein: "wanted to think
like God thinks." The reason was that with God, "all things are possible."
And so it is with us - when we become aware, we begin to think like God
thinks - our Source. We are then in alignment with our Source and no
excuses are then necessary. Why? Because every excuse ever
created is a misalignment away from our Source. He also states that
"The purpose of all that you do is to enable you to return to the Source - and
you are a piece of it" In other words, there is a Plan unfolding
for each of us and we are all moving in the direction of our Source.
Ok.......take a look at this: Emerson once said: The precursor to every
action is a thought."
So think about this for moment: Everything you see around you, everything,
was once a thought. Someone thought it up and it became real. So be careful
how you frame your thoughts. A great many of us are caught in thinking what
we do not have, what we do not want, etc., and we simply create more of the
same.
Our attention is on that! Thoughts are like "things" that begin the process
of materializing.
What an awesome idea!
Almost all of us have watched The Secret and have tried to valiantly use the
Law of Attraction to bestow upon us that which we want. And it did not work.
Is the law wrong? No. Our thinking is, however. We do not
attract into our life that which we want. No. We attract into our life that which
we are. We need to be in total alignment with that which we desire!
There's a concept!
In order for that which we deeply desire to manifest in our lives, we need to
assume the feeling of a wish fulfilled.
We need to feel from the endpoint rather than thinking about and wishing
the end result. You need to imagine and feel the person you would be, in
order to re-create yourself. How would you feel once you reached your goal?
How would you act? How would you think?
In other words, you need to feel it, rather than think about it. The reason is
that when we feel, we are actually connected to our Source - there is no
thought involved. We are connected with our Source and all is possible.
You can know a thing mentally, but you know a thing spiritually by becoming
a part of it. You need to feel the end result. You need to become the end
result. There is no wishing involved here. No dreaming and no hoping.
You need to become the end result and feel what it is like.
Your subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between what it real and
what is vividly imagined - we've all heard this. I say this because in the last
few moments before we go to bed and before we fall asleep, we often think
about all the problems we've experienced that day and the troubles we expect
the next. The result is that we begin to feel a certain way and we attract into
our life that which we feel and place our attention on. Think about this: for
the next eight hours, our subconscious mind floats in a sea of negativity
and self criticism.
Can't be good!
So here is an exercise I'd like you to do:
Just before you fall asleep, when you are in that special place in your mind
and are totally relaxed, think about the wonderful day you've just had, be grateful
for the experiences you had and the lessons you've learned and feel what you'd
feel like once you've reached your goals - whatever they may be. You would be
surprised how you begin to feel and what miracles you begin to manifest into your
life!
This THOT is a distillation of the I Can Do It seminar Leslee and I attended on
the weekend and I wanted to share it with all of you. This THOT should have
special meaning to us all because we are all connected to the Innate intelligence
and the Universal power which we are all a part of.
My warmest wishes,
Dr. Ogi Ressel
Here is your affirmation for your week:
I let go of all expectations.
I flow freely and lovingly with Life.
I love myself.
I know that only good awaits me at every turn.
