Accomplishment, by Dr. Ogi Ressel
Friday, June 19th 2009Warm hellos to everyone!
WOW!!!! I can't believe I have not written my THOTS to you for almost
three weeks.
I have to tell you that I really missed communicating with you!
The Phoenix Program was spectacular; there is no other way of stating it.
The Buttes Resort is one of only two Marriott resorts in North America with
an amphitheatre which we made full use of. Fantabulistic!
Lynn and I travelled to Sedona and I was in awe at the sight and the magnificence
of the Buttes, jutting some 4-5 thousand feet into the sky. There is a spirituality
there that is almost palatable.
I met an old Indian Medicine Man who suggested that I pick up a rock and a
twig from one of the cedars by the side of the road. He told me to enter each
room of my home holding the cedar twig and great luck will follow. So I did as
I was told.
With that in mind, here is my THOT for all of you for your upcoming week:
Wave: You measure the size of your accomplishment by the obstacles you had
to overcome to reach it.
Someone once said; "The elevator to success is out of order. You'll have to use
the stairs - one step at a time."
In our insane, ready-to-wear, instant-on, oven-ready, etc., pace, we often forget
that instant success is a rarity. It usually follows hard W.O.R.K. and perseverance
and dedication. Did
I say this would be easy? I believe that in order for a chiropractor to be at the
pinnacle, be the best, be the cream of the crop, there are certain steps which
must be taken.
These steps cannot be rushed as they gradually mold and mature you into a
great doctor.
That is one of the reasons why locum doctors, hired so you can take a vacation,
invariably lower your practice and it then takes you months to recover. It is also
the reason that many doctors, after taking some glitzy marketing seminar, see
their practice initially skyrocket, before reverting back to previous unacceptable
levels.
The reasons are simple; although the locum has similar technical ability,
he/she has not matured into your position. And, although a doctor has artificially
inflated his practice through some marketing ploy, he has not fully matured into
the type of doctor his community is looking for. The results are short lived - and
I know that you totally understand what I am referring to.
I mention in my Program, that in order for you to be a 500 patient visit/week doctor,
you must have mentally and spiritually already "arrived." Your heart, your mind
and your spirit gradually expand and change so that you are slowly able to help
increasing numbers of people - Innate will never send you more than you can
handle in your present state of Being. In other words, you must already be there
long before your stats tell you that you are.
You must taste it, feel it, touch it, and be it.
So...in order to help more people and save more children, you must change.
You must shed those habits and mannerisms, and philosophy which has stopped
you from expanding and helping more than you!.
...And that is not an instant-on process. ...and it may require periods of uncertainty,
fear, confusion, and doubt.
And that's Ok.
Most of us only grow when we have a crisis. So...go out there and have a crisis!
Enjoy it!
And know that at the other end of it, you will be a person who is worth something!
And that you'll then enjoy the fruits of your "obstacles!"
It has been said that you measure a Man by the size of shoes he wears.
You need to change your shoes regularly - a bigger size each time!
Now go and change your shoes!
Warmest wishes to all,
Dr. Ogi Ressel
